About Creation

Keeping it Green

At the forefront of all minds in Creation Autosportif is the development and placement of GREEN technology on our Creation LMP race cars.

The sport of GT and Sports Car racing has lead the way with embracing Green thinking into the sport, and indeed Creation was the first Sports Car team to adopt carbon neutral emissions systems (Climate Care) on our race cars. In addition, we are working closely with our tyre suppliers, Michelin, to develop and test 'Green' thinking race tyres, and of course with the American Championships we race using an ethanol mix fuel, better known as E-85 ETHANOL.

Ethanol fuel is widely used by teams in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and this year (2008) will witness the launch of the 'Green Challenge' which is a new initiative in concert with the US Department of Energy, the US Environmental Protection Agency and SAE International.

The 'Green Challenge' is an on-track competition some of the most sophisticated and technically advanced race cars in the world. The inaugural 'Green Challenge' will be in incremental element at this year's 'Petit Le Mans', October 4 - the ALMS' Signature event.

The rules of the challenge will be a system ranked according to: Amount of energy used; Greenhouse gasses (GHG) emitted and Amount of petroleum displaced.

In addition to the 'Green Challenge' Creation's growing partnerships with Forsyth Technical College and A&T University - both based in North Carolina, will see groundbreaking experiments on such areas as the use of Solar power and recycled energy being adopted on the team's race cars.
