Work with Creation
Greensboro North Carolina is the home of a very well respected University - the Agricultural and Technical, or A&T for short. The university has a well structured 4 year automotive engineering course for interns, using some of the most advanced technology available, breeding very smart students.
Creation's Andy Woolgar recently sealed a strong partnership with Dr Thurman Exum from A&T and a working affiliation with the diversity college was formed. This arrangement was recently brought to fruition when 2 A&T students joined Creation to work for the team at the recent Petit Le Mans race in Atlanta, thus gaining experience they would otherwise never have the opportunity to on highly advanced race cars like the Creation CA07.
"Having the diversity angle within our type of the sport is something we didn't have to give any thought to. To us at Creation it makes perfect sense" commented Woolgar. "The students who worked with us in Atlanta were smart and great ambassadors to A&T as well as to Creation. The next steps are for not only the 'hands on' mechanically minded students to become further involved but also we are exploring the possibilities of bringing in students who are training on CAD and other computerised design and for them to implement a programme around the aerodynamics of our race car. Again, this would bring invaluable experience and something they can take with them to future employment".
To enhance the agreement the #888 Creation CA07 that raced in Atlanta carried the A&T "Aggie Pride" logos in the race.
