About Creation

Le Mans Series, Le Mans, and American Le Mans

The Le Mans, or 'LMS' series is designed to create a closer tie to the coveted Le Mans 24 hours and overall prizes give teams an automatic entry to the Le Mans classic that takes place in June of every year. This race is the widely regarded as the jewel in the crown for most GT, Sportscar endurance teams.

The LMS Series runs a parallel accordance of rules to those of its US counterpart, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), and of course the Le Mans 24 Hours race itself. The LMS and Le Mans 24 are governed by the Automobile Club De L'Ouest (ACO) and Federation Internationale Automobile (FIA), and the ALMS is governed by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), ACO and FIA to ensure accuracy and fair running of all series. This also allows teams to cross from series to series, as Creation does when we race in the ALMS rounds for example, without having to make drastic changes to the cars.

The LMS consists of around 6 x 1000kms races per season, run mainly on Formula 1 circuits such as Silverstone and Barcelona. The ALMS covers North America by running races in several key states including Florida, New York, California and Georgia. The typical ALMS season is over 11 rounds and includes the Sebring 12 Hours and 'Petit Le Mans' 10 hours races.

The Le Mans 24 Hours is the oldest car race in the world. The race runs annually at the city of Le Mans, in the beautiful Loire valley region of France during the month of June. Only the world's best endurance sports car and GT car teams are selected to take part in this huge event, that attracts over 300.000 fans trackside and 250 million via television broadcasts.
