QUICK RACE REPORT........ Nestling in the Ardenne Mountains, the famous Nurburgring venue was th scene of round 4 of the LMS. And remarkably for Creation-AIM, it also played witness to the return of the team's lead driver, Jamie Campbell-Walter. After nearly 2 months lay off in recovery after his accident in Monza, the Scotsman tested with the team in Estoril and Snetterton, and based on the outcome of those sessons it was deemed that he was more than ready to get back behind the wheel of a Creation race car! Stuart hall, his regular team mate was reunited with his mentor in the #15 car. Nurburgring saw the addition of 2 exciting new signings for the #14: South African open wheel Indy star Stephen Simpson, and London domiciled Californian racer Liz Halliday. So with 2 new drivers and more development since the summer break thanks to Dunlop Tyres, we felt we had a good chance of success leading up to this event, despite the fact that the diesel's were always going to be dominant. Qualifying was a slight disappointment however, the #15 car only managing a time good enough for 14th and the new driver pairing in the #14 taking 18th on the grid, some 7 tenths off the sister car. The race however was to prove the Creation-AIM's to be more competitive. JC-W back in full swing meant he would do the opening 2 hours (up to 9th) and Simpson in the sister car opened his account in sports cars with a very impressive stint (upto 13th). The JC-W-to-Hall handover went well, as did the Simpson to Halliday switch but as Liz rounded the first corner on her 'out' lap she was rammed by another car, thus forcing an un-scheduled stop for rear wing repairs. This cost the duo tons of time and the thought of any decent finish for the day. Meanwhile Hall set about improving Jamie's opening efforts, which he did very well. With Simpson back behind the wheel of the #14 car after a fairly uneventful stint by Liz, he immediately had soem issues to attend to. COntact with another car caused soem brake ducting problems and then he picked up a puncture..all these things slowing the progress of the #14 car. Jamie continued a trouble-free run in the #15 to take an eventual 7th place overall (3rd inthe 'petrol' class!) and after a hard first race, Simpson and Halliday soldiered on to take a fine 10th in class.
